About Central Catholic Vikings Hockey

Central Catholic Vikings Hockey is a club sport offered as an extracurricular activity by Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School (CCHS). All members of the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams are enrolled in the school as students.  Annual tryouts for the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Bantam/Middle School teams are generally held in early-mid May (Once open, all information about tryout registration and the upcoming season will be posted on this page.)

As CCHS does not have a middle school, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade (2nd year peewee and bantam-aged) members of the Bantam/Middle School team may be enrolled at any public, private, parochial or charter school, irrespective of where they live, so long as they have a good faith interest in considering CCHS. Central Catholic is proud that, every year, nearly every 8th grade member of the Bantam/Middle School team enjoys the experience so much that he chooses Pittsburgh Central Catholic as his high school.   If you or your son is interested in learning more about playing on the Central Catholic Vikings Hockey Bantam/Middle School team and exploring Central Catholic as a college preparatory high school option, please do not hesitate to contact Central Catholic Vikings Hockey and/or the CCHS Office of AdmissionsRoll Vikes!

Unlike many other schools wherein the hockey clubs are associations or non-profit corporations with a legal status separate and distinct from the school districts, Central Catholic Vikings Hockey Club is an integral part of the school itself. CCHS actively supports the club and the student athletes at every level.
